Hope Hornish is from Defiance, Ohio, and has been racing about 15 years, most of her young life. She started driving Go-Karts at 4, and began racing them at the age of 8. Her interest in racing was inspired by her maternal uncle, Sam Hornish, Jr., who won the Indianapolis 500 in 2006. Hope moved up to Pro-Late Models, and joined the CRA-JEGS All Star Tour a couple of years ago, driving car #8 or #8H. When she isn’t racing, Hope is a full-time college student with a double major in political science (with an eye on law school, but keeping her options open), and instrumental music. She plays several instruments, including French horn, and keyboard. Hope also finds time to give piano lessons, and is excited about the future. Her positive approach to life, her strong faith, and her ability to juggle the demands of school and racing are an encouragement and example to many.
