Charlie Schultz is from Lorain, Ohio near Cleveland, and has been racing for 27 years. He was exposed to the sport at an early age because his dad built engines. Charlie started racing Go-Karts at age 12, then Midgets. When he was 18 or 19, he began racing Sprint cars on pavement. Schultz is one of the few drivers who has gone back and forth between open wheel machines and stock cars. From 2002 until recently, Charlie raced Super Modifieds, returning to Sprints this past season. Although he has raced both Winged and Non-Winged varieties, currently, Charlie competes primarily in Winged Sprint events with car #9S. When he isn’t racing, Charlie works as a welder, fabricator, and machinist. He enjoys hanging out with family and friends, building engines, and racing Go-Karts indoors during the off-season.
