Dan Leeck is from Birch Run, and has been racing about 15 years. His uncle raced street stocks and late models, and Dan spent a lot of time at the old Dixie Motor Speedway as a kid. Dan competes in Pro Late Model races in car #74 and CRA (Championship Racing Association) Super Series events, and the CRA-JEGS All Star Tour in car #12. Dan’s first priority is to build and maintain cars driven by fellow racer Hope Hornish. He travels to all her events, and is an integral part of her pit crew. Dan competes himself only when a race does not conflict with Hope’s itinerary. They almost never compete against each other. On September 1, 2017, Dan thrilled the crowd at Birch Run Speedway by pulling away from a strong field of contenders to win the Pro Late Model Feature Race. Before landing his current gig with HopeHornishRacing, Dan worked in his family’s asphalt business. When he isn’t racing himself , or working on Hope’s car, Dan enjoys deer hunting in both bow and firearms’ seasons.
